A tearaway pacer, Miguel Cummins is a professional cricketer for West Indies. The type of bowler who likes to skid the ball at a good pace, Miguel followed the footsteps of Fidel Edwards and Ravi Rampaul to sign a Kolpak deal in the County Championship. He signed a three-year deal with Middlesex in September 2019 after being snubbed by the West Indies Board.
The Barbadian has played in all formats for West Indies making his ODI debut against Ireland on February 23th, 2014 and was pretty expensive with the ball in hand. With some top-flight experience under his belt, Cummins had a relentless domestic season, scalping 30 wickets in the 2015/16 Professional Cricket League.
After an excellent domestic season, Cummins earned his maiden call-up to the Test side against the touring Indians. He made his debut on July 30th, 2016 and went on to pick his maiden five-wicket haul against India in just his second Test outing. The 30-year old now joins Kent Cricket Club after having featured for Middlesex and Worcestershire in the past years. He had a successful stint with Middlesex in the 2020 Bob Willies Trophy, taking 13 wickets in 3 matches to earn a place in Kent’s Championship side for the first 8 matches.
