A right-arm medium-fast bowler, Joshi is part of the Indian women's cricket team and plays for Haryana in the domestic circuit.
Joshi attended trials at the Haryana Cricket Association and got selected for the U19 state team. The pacer had an impressive first few seasons with Haryana and as a result, was included in India’s T20I squad for a series against West Indies. However, Joshi did not feature in any of the matches but finally made her T20I debut against Bangladesh in the 2016 Women’s T20 Asia Cup held in Thailand.
The Roorkee-born picked up a wicket on her debut match and in the next game against Thailand and took 2 for 28 against. Hence, was declared the 'Player of the Match'.
Impressive performances in the Asia Cup earned her a maiden ODI call-up against Ireland in 2017. She couldn’t pick up any wicket but was economical in her 8 overs. She roared back in the next game against Bangladesh, picking up 3 crucial wickets and helped India to qualify for the 2017 Women’s World Cup.
Joshi was part of the Indian team that reached the finals of the 2017 World Cup where the team eventually lost to England by nine runs. She played only two matches in the World Cup but did leave a positive impression with her swing bowling.
Just before the 2020 Women’s T20 Challenge in UAE, Joshi tested positive for Covid-19 and was subsequently ruled out of the tournament.
A future star in the making, Mansi Joshi has all the tools to be a successful pacer for the Indian team. She possesses a strong run-up and it’s her deadly outswingers that caught the eyes of the Indian selectors.
