Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Laxmi Yadav is a 25-year-old right-handed wicket-keeper bater. She represents Delhi in the Indian domestic circuit and has also led the team in the past.
The Ghaziabad-born is from a simple family, and her father works for a private company, but they recognized her talent and supported her. Eventually, Laxmi left no stone unturned, worked hard, and reaped the fruits with a WPL contract.
Laxmi's game developed under Sanjay Nagar's guidance to the point that she was chosen for the Delhi U-19 team, and she hasn't looked back since. She has also led Delhi's U-23 team.
The promising talent was recognized when she played for Delhi in India A Challenger Trophy (One Day). The wicket-keeper batter impressed everyone with her cricketing skills, scoring 150 runs in four matches. Laxmi scored an unbeaten 92 off 85 balls against Arunachal Pradesh, which further highlighted her potential as a cricketer.
The young gun made headlines when she was roped in by UP Warriorz (UPW) for INR 10 lakhs in the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. The 25-year-old selection in the WPL is an excellent opportunity to showcase her skills and learn from some of the best players in the world.
