A dashing top-order batsman who can bowl handy offies, Jason Mohammed is a professional cricketer for the West Indies national team. Part of the U-19 squad alongside Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard, he showed great patience to make his comeback to the West Indies squad after four years since making his debut in 2011.
Jason arrived at the domestic scene in 2006 and made his debut for Trinidad and Tobago in a first-class fixture in January 2006. After showing promise for Trinidad, he gradually made progress and broke through the national squad in 2011. He made his ODI debut against India on December 11th, 2011 but failed to cement his spot, scoring just 2 runs off 21 balls.
Jason made a comeback to the ODI squad in 2015 against Sri Lanka but was sidelined again for a year or two. On the back of some heavy run-scoring in the domestic circuit, he bounced back once again against England in 2017 and became a regular in the limited-overs format since. Jason was selected to captain the side for the Bangladesh tour when most of the senior players opted out. He returned back to the Caribbean Islands with a historic 2-0 Test victory over Bangladesh.
Having now entered his 30s, Jason will be hoping to make the most of his time on the cricket field, playing for the Trinidad and the West Indies national team.
