A lower-order batter and an off-break bowler by traits, Jarrod Freeman is the new kid on the blocks. Hailing from Australia’s Launceston, he is a bowling all-rounder who plays for Tasmania and Hobart Hurricanes at representative levels.
Emerged from the Tasmanian Cricket Academy, Freeman is a former Australian U-19 cricketer who is from the lot that played in the 2018 edition of the Junior World Cup. However, he booked a contract with the Tasmanian Tigers and made his Sheffield debut at a mere age of 17 years.
The spinning all-rounder made his first-class debut for Tasmania in the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield season, against New South Wales to bag the wicket of Test cricketer - Ed Cowan. His List A debut for Tasmania in the 2019-20 Marsh One-Day Cup.
In 2019, Freeman was added to the Hobart Hurricanes squad to replace Johan Botha, who retired mid-season. He played two BBL games, that season, where he didn’t leave any mark. Since then, he has been a part of the Hurricanes squad but has only been warming the bench.
