A wily left-arm spinner, James Logan is a professional English cricketer who first impressed as a trialist for the club’s second XI team before making a breakthrough into the senior side in 2018. Logan started his cricketing days playing for Yorkshire in the U-14, U-15 and U-17 sides and gradually progressed into the second XI of Yorkshire.
The Wakefield-born spinner made his first-class debut against Worcestershire on September 24th, 2016 before facing Warwickshire in 2020 that turned out to be the last outing for him in the 2020 domestic season. Although Yorkshire lost the match, he stood out with figures of 4/22 on the fourth day as Warwickshire chased down 217 by 3 wickets.
A broken thumb ruined his summer in 2020 and then missed the latter stages of the summer with a stress fracture. Having been released by Yorkshire prior to the start of the 2021 season, Logan signed a new short-term contract with Kent Cricket Club that later got extended for 2 years. A bowler with decent control under pressure, the youngster has shown an excellent temperament at a very young age and he would be hoping to hone his craft as a Kent player.
