Jack William Shutt is an English cricketer who made his big Yorkshire debut during the 2019 T20 Blast. He is an off-spinner who is known to perform better in under pressure situations. Shutt is a product of the academy system who has grown through the age-group level, represented Yorkshire at Under 17s and Under19, before playing for the firsts and the seconds.
Born in Yorkshire, Shutt’s cricketing journey started at home club Elsecar. And he mastered the art in Mumbai prior to the 2020 summer on a spin bowling camp organized by Peter Such. He made his Yorkshire debut in the T20 format to scalp the wickets of Steven Croft and Liam Livingstone. And his first-class debut came in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. However, his association with the White Ross goes way back as he first wore the Yorkshire jersey in 2013.
The offspinner is more looked at as a T20 specialist, while his 5 for 11 against Durham is the epitome of his calibre. At 23, Shutt has played 11 T20 Blast games to scalp 12 wickets, he also broke into Yorkshire’s four-day team, taking two wickets in three Bob Willis Trophy games.
