A red-ball specialist, Harvey Hosein is a professional English cricketer for the Derbyshire County Club. Born in Chesterfield, Harvey graduated from Derbyshire Academy and made one of the most remarkable debuts in the history of the game. A solid wicketkeeper, he made an immediate impact with 11 catches in the game against Surrey at the Oval, a Derbyshire record.
Already very young, he has shown the quality of a top-cricketer who can win games on his own. Started playing in age-group cricket for Derbyshire, he brought up his maiden hundred against Worcestershire at Worcester in 2016. Harvey came into the limelight in 2018 which saw the 22-year-old Hosein score 376 County Championship runs, taking 12 catches and one stumping.
Harvey signed a new two-year deal with the county, extending the contract he signed last year which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2022 season, coming on the back of a fine campaign in red-ball cricket for the 24-year-old. He has been associated with the club for over a decade now and has become a Derbyshire coming from the Academy.
