Gysbert Wege is a South African cricketer known for his right-handed batting and right-arm off-break bowling. He first gained attention through strong performances in youth cricket, particularly during national U-13 tournaments, where his bowling stood out.
Ehlers has represented various domestic age-group sides, including Gauteng, Northern Cape, and the Lions, across different formats. Notably, in his early years, he delivered impressive figures in youth competitions, showcasing his potential as a reliable bowler. However, the 2000-born cricketer is yet to make his first-class and List A debut.
Ehlers has not yet played in the SA20 tournament. For the 2025/26 season, he is part of the Durban Super Giants squad, and he must be hoping to play in some of their games this time around.
Ehlers is a product of the Middelburg Hoƫrskool (MHS). The school has produced multiple first-class cricketers.
Beyond cricket, he pursued higher education at Stellenbosch University and currently resides in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. While his domestic career has mostly been in the lower divisions, Ehlers remains committed to improving his game and advancing within South African cricket.
