Emily Arlott is a Worcestershire-based seamer who broke the internet when she took a quadruple-wicket maiden in a five-wicket haul for Central Sparks in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, a day before her maiden call-up for England. Arlott’s performances were so impressive that Heather Knight herself came into the seamer’s awe.
Born at King's Lynn, a 15-year-old Arlott made her debut for Worcestershire in 2013, where she took a wicket during her team’s 30-run victory over Durham. She became a regular feature in the county’s setup, while she took 8 wickets at an average of 32.62 during the 2015 season. By 2019, the seamer became the leader of Worcestershire’s pace unit and started serving them as a community cricket coach.
In 2019, Arlott returned from an ankle injury and made that season her breakthrough one as she scalped 19 wickets across both formats. In 2020, ECB handed the seamer her domestic contract. Arlott has also been part of England's Development and Academy programs.
In 2021, the seamer was signed by Birmingham Phoenix to play in the inaugural edition of the Hundred, before getting picked for the full-fledged series against touring India, later in June. At 23, Arlott has earned her maiden international call-up where she would be sharing the dressing with the likes of Anya Shrubsole, Kate Cross, and Katherine Brunt.
