Born on December 28, 1995, Conor Olphert is a right-arm medium-pace bowler. His father David Olphert was also a cricketer and featured in a single first-class fixture.
Olphert made his List A debut for North West Warriors (NWW) in September 2020 against Leinster Lightning and picked up two wickets.
Featuring in only one List-A match, he was named as the net bowler on Ireland men’s tour to the UAE in 2021 due to the injury of lead bowler Gareth Delany.
The 26-year-old was provided with an opportunity to feature in his first T20 match for NWW against Munster Reds in the following year, wherein he was again impressive with the figures of 2/26 in four overs.
In the 2022 edition of the Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy, Olphert scalped six wickets in four appearances at an economy of 7.66. In the 50-overs tournament, the youngster has picked up six wickets as well at an economy of 5.21.
In May 2022, Cricket Ireland expanded their fast-bowling pool to hand over an educational contract to Olphert, for strengthening their depth ahead of their busy white-ball schedule. The signed contract will end in February 2023.
In June 2022, the talented bowler was named in the 14-man squad to face India in the 2-match T20I series at Malahide.
