Born in Nelson, Claudia Lauren Green is a talented cricketer who is known to bowl medium-pace. She has been appointed as the female development officer for Nelson cricket while pursuing a degree in Physical Education.
Green started her cricketing career at twelve when she had to play for her cousin’s team. She got an opportunity to play for New Zealand U-22 in the Indoor Cricket World Cup in Dubai.
The 25-year-old debuted in First-Class cricket with Central Hinds, where she took a wicket on her seventh delivery. She later impressed everyone with a five-wicket haul against England in February 2021, representing New Zealand XI in a warm-up game.
The right-arm pacer got her maiden call-up for the White Ferns during the 2021 tour of the UK after Amelia Kerr was unavailable. But unfortunately, she didn’t debut in the series.
Green was named as the replacement for Jess Kerr for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. She is yet to don the national colors and will be hoping to make a mark when provided with the opportunity.
