Arif Yaqoob is a renowned right-arm leg-break bowler, who represents Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Yaqoob made his First-Class debut in December 2025, with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) against Pakistan Television in the President's Trophy.
He announced himself like no one else could. None of the opposition batters could read him. As a result, the wrist-spinner secured a ten-wicket haul in the match, leading SNGPL to an eight-wicket victory.
In November 2023, Yaqoob made his T20 debut, playing for Karachi Whites against Islamabad in the National T20 Cup. He bagged four wickets in his four-over spell, conceding just 18 runs.
His small milestones eventually built up a bigger opportunity for him. In January 2024, Yaqoob's burgeoning reputation led to his selection by Peshawar Zalmi for the 2024 PSL season.
The leggie also enjoys a phenomenal record in his First-class career. But unlike his decorated FC career, his List A has been a little ordinary.
Yaqoob includes various armors in his variation such as a deceptive googly and a well-disguised flipper. His ability to maintain a consistent line and length makes him a challenging opponent for any batter.
