A left-arm orthodox bowler, a World Cup winner and a great broadcaster, Alex Hartley has it all to be recognised among the top-most influential figures in Women's cricket.
The Lancashire-born represented her native county in the early days, having made her debut in 2008. While 2010 brought with it an enormous success for Hartley, she eventually made a move to Middlesex in 2013.
Suffering from a dip in her form, Hartley gradually found her stride during the stint with Middlesex. The left-armer's stunning performance earned her a call-up to the pre-season Academy tour that was held in UAE in 2015.
What followed was the international debut of Hartley as she first burst onto the global scene in the 2016 ODI series versus Pakistan. Her consistency further reaped rewards as she played the 2017 ODI World Cup for England and ended as the side's second-highest wicket-taker with 10 scalps, playing a massive role in the hosts' triumph in the tournament.
While Hartley is not in the international picture anymore, she continues to play domestic cricket. The 28-year-old will be next seen in action for Welsh Fire in The Hundred 2022.
