Abbi Aitken Drummond Profile, Career & Stats

Abbi Aitken Drummond - a veteran of the Scottish Women’s national team. She became the 30th player to represent Scotland when she debuted for the country at 14 years of age in 2005. Aitken has been her team’s prime fast-bowler and has also led them from 2011 to 2018. Apart from representing her national team globally, Aitken also plays for Carlton CC domestically. 

Aitken is a fast-bowling allrounder who has been providing her best from the word go. She made her international debut back in 2005 and then played the World Cup Qualifiers in Stellenbosch in 2008, as an 18-year old. As her career progressed, the Wildcat upped her game with both bat and ball, but cricket not being a prime sport in Scotland, Aitken could never excel at the world stage. 

She was appointed as the captain of the national team in 2011 and led them to the 2015 World T20 Qualifier. While Aitken proved her mantle as skipper when she took Scotland to glory in the 2016 European Qualifier. The allrounder also led the country during the 2017 Qualifiers, before she stood down from the role of leadership in 2018. 

However, Aitken continued to provide herself as a player. She played in the 2018 World T20 Qualifier tournament to make her T20I debut. Following the 2018 event, the all-rounder was Scotland's prime weapon for the 2019 World T20 Qualifier tournament, which took place in Scotland itself. Apart from being a quality player, Aitken also works for Cricket Scotland within the Commercial, Communications & Events department.
