Player Bio

Steve Stolk is a right-handed hard-hitting batter and is widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in South African cricket. An alumnus of Hoërskool Menlopark, he rose quickly through the school and provincial ranks with his attacking stroke play and fearless approach to batting.

Stolk burst into the spotlight during the ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup in 2024. In a group match against Scotland, he smashed 86 off just 37 balls, including a half-century in a mere 13 deliveries — the fastest fifty in U19 World Cup history. During his innings, he also smashed five sixes in a single over. Across the six innings he batted in the tournament, the Pretoria-born batter scored 228 runs.

Even before his World Cup heroics, the 2006-born player had already made headlines in school and provincial competitions, scoring more than 1,000 runs in the 2023 season at an exceptional strike rate, often dominating bowlers with aggressive shot-making.

A product of the Titans' set-up, Stolk made his T20 debut while playing for them in April 2024. A year later, he made his List A debut while batting for the South Africa Emerging side.

His promise was quickly recognised when Pretoria Capitals signed him as a rookie pick for the SA20 2024/25 season, giving him the chance to share a dressing room with senior internationals and also fielded him in three games.

However, for the 2025/26 season, Stolk will represent the Joburg Super Kings franchise.
