Pakistan have rewritten the record books producing a remarkable run chase against Sri Lanka in the ODI Tri-Series final in Lahore on October 31, 2026.

Chasing 326, Pakistan reached 331/7 in 48.3 overs to seal a three-wicket victory with nine balls remaining. Pakistan also surpassed India's famous NatWest Series final achievement from 2002 to register the highest-ever feat in ODI cricket.

Pakistan topple India's record to script highest chase in ODI tournament finals

Pakistan's 331-run chase eclipsed India's 326/8 against England at Lord's in the 2002 NatWest Series final. Fakhar Zaman led the charge with a magnificent 127 off 99 deliveries, while Saad Baig contributed 74. Arafat Minhas then turned the contest decisively with his 61 off just 31 balls.

Sri Lanka had posted 325/8, powered by Kamindu Mendis' 131 and Pavan Rathnayake's 77. However, Pakistan's middle-order firepower ensured the target was chased down.

Pakistan now leads the chart of records, surpassing an iconic clash between India and England where India's 2002 victory featured Mohammad Kaif's unbeaten 87 and Yuvraj Singh's 69, chasing a target of 326 runs.
