The Karachi Kings are set to play their first match at the National Stadium, Karachi, in Match 17 of PSL 2026, as they face the Peshawar Zalmi on April 9, at 7:30 PM (IST).

Ahead of the match, they have gotten a few days of rest, having won all three of their matches so far. They currently sit second on the table and could potentially go to the top with a win. On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi, ahead of their game against the Hyderabad Kingsmen, have won one and one of their match has ended without a result.

As the Karachi Kings look to make it four wins in a row to start PSL 2026, here’s a look at their predicted playing XI for the match.

Top Order: Muhammad Waseem, David Warner (c), Salman Agha

Captain David Warner is reported to be cleared to fly back to Pakistan for the remainder of PSL 2026 and will be back opening the innings after 93 runs at a strike rate of 138.80 in the tournament so far. He will be paired with the UAE skipper, Muhammad Waseem, who has scored a fifty in the competition, helping the team win three in three.

Pakistan T20I skipper Salman Agha, after scoring 51 runs at 141.66, has started taking on the bowlers in PSL 2026 and will be slated at number 3. He has also picked up two wickets with his part-time spin bowling in the tournament.

Middle order and All-rounders: Azam Khan (wk), Khushdil Shah, Moeen Ali, Saad Baig, Abbas Afridi

The explosive wicketkeeper batter, Azam Khan, is the highest run-scorer for the Karachi Kings in PSL 2026, with 102 runs at a strike rate of 170. He has the best score of 74 and looks like his old form again.

He will be followed by Khushdil Shah, who hasn’t been able to get going in the competition so far, with only 30 runs in three innings. However, with the winning momentum, they would like to back his experience of over 4000 T20 runs at 137.14

At 6 will be Moeen Ali, who has 71 runs in the tournament so far to go with his three wickets at a miserly economy rate of 7.77 runs per over. He will be followed by the duo of the teenager, Saad Baig, looking to make a mark in PSL as a finisher alongside Abbas Afridi, having scored 16 runs in 3 balls in PSL 2026.

Bowlers: Hasan Ali, Adam Zampa, Shahid Aziz

The Karachi Kings bowling attack will be led by Hasan Ali’s right-arm medium pace after the bowler has picked 8 scalps in 3 innings, including a 4/27 in PSL 2026 so far. The third pacer will be Shahid Aziz after Mir Hamza’s freak head injury earlier in the week. So far, in 34 T20s, Aziz has picked 41 wickets, which would give him prominence over the others.

The Australian leg-spinner, experienced Adam Zampa, will be the lead spinner of the Karachi Kings bowling attack. In the three games played, he has picked 3 wickets, conceding less than 5.5 runs per over in the tournament. He is their second-best bowler so far in PSL 2026.
