The Men in Blue are facing a crisis concerning their fast-bowling all-rounders, several of whom are currently nursing injuries Recently, Hardik Pandya dealt a fresh setback as he is likely to miss the Afghanistan T20Is.
Hardik Pandya sustained an injury following the T20 World Cup 2026 and has been at the CoE since then. While nursing his quadricep injury at the Centre of Excellence, his return has been delayed twice due to fresh setbacks.
At this point, Hardik’s return to the Indian setup is looking tough, and even if he does return, there are doubts over his form and match readiness. Not just Hardik Pandya, but Nitish Kumar Reddy too has been suffering from injuries on a regular basis.
Fast-Bowling All-Rounders In Indian Domestic Circuit
Unlike Hardik, Nitish Kumar Reddy has regained full fitness, but the selectors still need to groom more all-rounders as they cannot afford to go to the 2027 ODI World Cup without a backup.

1. Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube needs no introduction. The CSK star batter has been an active part of India’s T20I set-up. The 33-year-old has won the T20I World Cup with India but was out of the scheme of things in ODIs. However, Dube returned to the set-up against England.
Notably, Nitish Kumar Reddy got ruled out of the England series at the last moment, and Shivam Dube earned an India call-up in ODIs. During that series, Dube scored a golden duck and picked two wickets.
Now, Dube has the chance to cement his place in ODIs and do well in the upcoming series against West Indies.
2. Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur’s last appearance came for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Since then, he has been playing domestic cricket and continues to remain one of India’s best backups during crisis times like these.

Talking about IPL 2026, Thakur played for Mumbai Indians, where he took 12 wickets in 7 matches, scoring 24 runs in 3 innings. The 34-year-old is an experienced campaigner, and India would certainly look to bank on that.
3. Suryansh Shedge
The Punjab Kings’ all-rounder had an impressive IPL 2026. He scored 158 runs in 7 innings, following which he got fast-tracked and earned an India call-up. Shedge made his India debut against Ireland. The 23-year-old was part of the entire UK tour.
Earlier, Suryansh Shedge was not supposed to be part of England T20Is, but he replaced Nitish Kumar Reddy in T20Is. At present, Suryansh has not played ODIs, but since he is already in the setup for T20Is, it means the selectors can also groom him for ODIs as well.
4. Madhav Tiwari
If the selectors are looking to invest in young talents who are performing in T20 leagues across the country, then Madhav Tiwari is a great option to be groomed and fast-tracked. The 22-year-old rose to fame with his debut for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
The star all-rounder scored crucial 18 runs with the bat in solitary innings and picked up 4 wickets in 3 innings. Madhav proved his mettle in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2026, where he scored 370 runs in 9 innings, averaging 61.67. With the ball, Madhav picked up 13 wickets in 9 innings.
5. Aman Khan
Another solid fast-bowling all-rounder option is Aman Khan. The 29-year-old, who was bought by CSK during IPL 2026, scored 484 runs in 12 innings in Pondicherry T20 League 2026. He also picked up 12 wickets in 8 innings.

Hence, selectors can turn their eyes towards local tournaments to hunt young and raw talents and fast-track them to the Indian set-up. Notably, Khan played IPL for Delhi Capitals in 2023, where he amassed 110 runs in 9 innings with the bat.
6. Raj Angad Bawa
Raj Angad Bawa has been active in domestic cricket for a long time now. Bawa had a great Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season, where he scored 290 runs in 11 innings and picked up 4 wickets. The 23-year-old also got to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026.
Bawa played a couple of games and took 2 wickets in IPL 2026. Even with the bat, the all-rounder scored 16 runs.
7. Mayank Gusain
In the recently concluded edition of DPL 2026, Mayank Gusain impressed a lot with his all-round skills. The 24-year-old scored 128 runs with the bat and took 13 wickets in the entire tournament.
8. Money Grewal
Money Grewal too had an impressive Delhi Premier League season. He turned out more as a pinch-hitter, which is a crucial factor for a lower-order batter. Talking about DPL 2026, he scored just 97 runs with the bat but picked up 18 wickets in 13 innings.
It is worth noting that Money Grewal batted with a strike rate of 215, the highest by any player in DPL 2026.
9. Sanjay Yadav
Shifting focus to TNPL, Sanjay Yadav was a stand-out performer. Talking about TNPL 2026, Sanjay scored 149 runs in 6 innings and took 7 wickets in 6 innings. Therefore, the selectors have plenty of options in the tank ahead of 2027 ODI World Cup.
