Yuzvendra Chahal and RJ Mahvash are once again at the centre of social media attention after fans noticed that the two have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The move has triggered fresh speculation about their relationship status especially given the dating rumours that surrounded them for months.
The dating rumours between them started after Chahal’s divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma last year.
While neither Chahal nor Mahvash has commented on the recent Instagram activity, screenshots circulating online show that the two no longer appear on each other’s following lists.
As expected, this small social media change has sparked big talk, with many users wondering if the two have finally cut ties.
Chahal and Dhanashree's divorce: What went wrong
Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s divorce was finalised by the Bandra family court in Mumbai on mutual consent, with the six-month cooling-off period removed at their joint request.
Reports suggested long-standing compatibility issues, career conflicts, and a major disagreement over where they should live. Dhanashree preferred Mumbai, while Chahal wanted to stay in Haryana.
The divorce drew massive attention, especially after Chahal was seen wearing a "Be Your Own Sugar Daddy" T-shirt on the day of the court proceedings. The moment went viral and sparked intense debate online.
Both Chahal and Dhanashree later spoke about the emotional pain they experienced, with Chahal even opening up about dark thoughts during the difficult phase.
Why Chahal and Mahvash were under spotlight
Chahal and Mahvash came under intense public scrutiny soon after the star players separation from Dhanashree Verma. The divorce was finalised in early 2025, ended their 2020 marriage and followed nearly 18 months of living separately.
Not long after the separation became public, Chahal was frequently spotted with Mahvash. She was seen cheering for him during IPL matches, and the two were reportedly seen stepping out together.
These appearances quickly raised speculation that a new relationship was brewing. Despite the rumours, both Chahal and Mahvash repeatedly denied any romantic development.
Chahal breaks silence on dating rumours
Last year, Chahal addressed the rumours during a conversation on entrepreneur Raj Shamani’s podcast. When asked directly if he was dating Mahvash, Chahal clearly stated that there was nothing between them.
He also spoke about the emotional toll the speculation had taken, particularly on Mahvash. According to Chahal, Mahvash faced harsh online criticism because of the rumours.
The PBKS star bowler also expressed regret over how uncomfortable the situation became, saying that it reached a point where they could not even step out together freely.
RJ Mahvash also took a strong stand against the dating rumours. Through a series of Instagram stories, she called the speculation 'baseless' and questioned why being seen with someone of the opposite gender automatically leads to dating assumptions.
At this point, there is no confirmation that Chahal and Mahvash were ever in a relationship to begin with. The recent Instagram unfollow has only added fuel to long-standing speculation.
