Matt Renshaw can’t do anything wrong in the ongoing South Africa tour as the Australian player pulled off a stunning one-handed catch at slips on Day 2 of the second Test to dismiss Ryan Rickelton.

The South African batter got an outside edge, and Renshaw had little time to react, but he still managed a one-handed reflex catch to send the batter packing.

Rickelton shocked as Renshaw makes the catch look easy

Scott Boland came around the wicket as the Australian bowler planned to induce an outside edge from Rickelton. He bowled a short-of-a-length ball that pitched and drifted away to take the edge off Rickelton’s bat.

The ball travelled quickly as the keeper had no chance to grab it. Matt Renshaw, at first slip, was standing close to the keeper as he quickly crouched to his right and plucked the ball with one hand to stun the South African batter.

For a brief moment, even he was shocked as he had pulled a stunner to dismiss a well-set South African batter. The whole Australian team celebrated as Rickelton stood at the crease for a few seconds before soaking it all up.

Renshaw can't do anything wrong vs South Africa

Eyebrows were raised when Matt Renshaw was picked for the tricky South Africa Test tour. He was not a permanent member of the side, and everyone expected that he would fail against the Proteas.

However, to everyone’s surprise, the 30-year-old came out of the syllabus in the first Test match, where Australia were in a spot of bother, and Renshaw rescued them.

In the first innings of the first Test, the southpaw played a marathon knock as he scored 190 and rescued his team from 124/6. He stitched crucial partnerships with the lower-order batters to help Australia post 390.

Then, in the second innings, the left-handed batter scored a quickfire 82 off 99 balls, and the innings gave wings to the Australian side as they set a challenging total, which the Proteas side failed to achieve.

Even with the ball in the second innings, he picked up 2 wickets and grabbed the Player of the Match award as the Australian team captured the first Test and took a lead.
