India were all guns blazing in a do-or-die clash against Zimbabwe as the Men in Blue put 256 runs on the board, which is the second-highest total in the history of the T20 World Cup. Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya were the stars with the bat, courtesy of their fifties.
Abhishek Sharma set the platform at the start with a 55-run knock. Hardik Pandya finished things in style as he reached his fifty with a couple of sixes on the last two balls of the first innings. Pandya completed the fifty off just 23 balls and scored his second half-century of this edition.

Following the couple of sixes, Tilak Varma reminded Hardik of his milestone. The MI Captain raised his bat and expressed his gratitude to Chepauk fans for their support. Afterwards, Hardik also blew a flying kiss to his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma, who was present in the stands.
The moment quickly went viral as Pandya has been quite public regarding his affection for his girlfriend.

Hardik Pandya and Mahieka Sharma have gone viral on several occasions during this World Cup campaign. The couple took over the internet moments after there were reports that the BCCI has barred families from travelling with the players.

Notably, when India travelled to Sri Lanka for Pakistan match, Pandya and Mahieka travelled together holding each other's hand, which had also drawn criticism. Further, Pandya celebrated Mahieka's 25th birthday in hotel, where rest of the India stars also attended the party.
The 25-year-old has been travelling with Hardik at every venue where the Indian team is playing their World Cup games. Recently, Pandya took over the internet when he accidentally brought Mahieka's phone with him in the team bus and then sent a staff member to hand over the phone.
The latest event has further got the internet talking about the couple and the comment box is filled with prayers of wedding bells.
Hardik Pandya Fully Focused On Cricket
Despite his off-field activities, Pandya is full focused on cricket and has been a clutch performer for the Men in Blue. Notably, the 32-year-old has scored 155 runs in six innings. With the ball, Pandya has five wickets and continues to be India's best all-rounder in white-ball cricket.
Pandya is eyeing his 2nd T20 World Cup title and wants to join the elite list featuring Rohit Sharma of players with multiple T20 World Cups for India. At present, only Rohit, who was part of 2007 and 2024 campaign has achieved the feat. Notably, not just Hardik Pandya, but seven more Indian cricketers will join the elite list.
