Pakistan became the latest and final side to reach the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 round, defeating Namibia in the last Group A match on Wednesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo. Courtesy of a maiden T20 World Cup century by Sahibzada Farhan (100 off 57), the Men in Green secured a dominent 102-run victory over their opponent. 

The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is just a few matches away from moving into the Super 8 stage, with all eight teams securing their spots in the next round, which begins on February 21.

Salman Ali Agha-led Pakistan has joined India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, West Indies, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and England.

Two-time champions the West Indies became the first nation to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 with a convincing nine-wicket win over Nepal, which assured them of a top-two finish in Group C. Defending champions India were the next team to make the cut for the Super 8 stage after a 61-run triumph over arch-rivals Pakistan in Group A.

Last year’s runners-up, South Africa, have also qualified for the Super 8 from Group D alongside New Zealand. Two-time winners England were the second team from Group C to enter the Super 8 after beating Italy by 24 runs in their final group match. 

Meanwhile, co-hosts Sri Lanka were the first team to punch their tickets from Group B after beating former champions Australia. Zimbabwe were the second team from Group B to advance to the Super 8 after a washout against Ireland, which also knocked Australia out of the T20 World Cup.
