Just ahead of the first T20I of the New Zealand series on January 21, Team India was seen unwinding and rejuvenating in vacation mode. Notably, Ishan Kishan, Ravi Bishnoi, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, and Suryakumar Yadav went on a jungle safari at the Pench Tiger Reserve on Monday.

The group of five enjoyed the safari during their off-time in Nagpur, with leisure photos taken inside the jeep later shared by Rinku Singh on his official Instagram handle. Rinku posted a series of pictures capturing their cheerful moments as they relaxed and soaked in the experience.

Meanwhile, Pench Tiger Reserve field director J. Deva Prasad told PTI that the players reached Seoni on Saturday night and stayed at a resort. After completing the jungle safari, the Team India stars departed for Nagpur around noon.

As per officials, Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates spotted leopards and other wildlife during the safari, though they were unable to see a tiger. They travelled in an open jeep and frequently stopped to click photos with fans.

Rinku Singh captioned his Instagram post “The Jungle Book,” which quickly garnered massive engagement. Within an hour, the post crossed 74,000 likes, with fans flooding the comments section to celebrate the successful safari outing.

Users flooded the comments section with reactions such as “Gunda log,” while another wrote, “Rinku bhai ne kya history padhi hai jo Pench Tiger Reserve mein Jungle Book ki baat kar rahe hain.” Others chimed in with comments like “God’s plan baby” on the post.

India cricketers receive gifts

Additionally, Pench wildlife photographer Rituraj Rahi Jaiswal revealed that before the players returned to Nagpur for the first T20I, he presented skipper Suryakumar Yadav with an annual calendar featuring photographs of tigers, leopards, and other wildlife.

For the uninitiated, Suryakumar Yadav had previously visited the Pench Tiger Reserve on February 15, 2025.

The park is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including tigers, chital, leopards, and sloth bears. Among other cricketers, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar also visited the reserve with his family in 2023.

Rinku Singh’s recent run with the bat

Speaking about Rinku Singh himself, the cricketer has been actively involved in domestic cricket in recent times. He scored 421 runs from eight Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, averaging an impressive 84.20.

In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well, he accumulated 172 runs from seven matches at an average of 24.57. Rinku Singh’s last appearance in India colours came in November 2025 during the Australia T20I series.

India look forward to bag NZ T20I series

As for the Indian cricket team, they are coming off a successful South Africa tour in December 2025, where they won the five-match series 3–1 with dominant performances both with the bat and the ball.

However, New Zealand’s 2–1 ODI series win over India may add extra responsibility on Suryakumar Yadav and his side to bounce back strongly in the T20I series.
