"I've seen Virat from the other side and how the local people treat him. It'll be incredible to see what it's actually like from being in his own changing room. It'll be a bizarre experience I'm sure," Duffy said.
Duffy, who calls Bengaluru one of his favorite cities, said playing alongside Virat Kohli is a huge opportunity. Experiencing firsthand how fans treat him in the RCB dressing room excites Duffy. Jacob Duffy had a magical 2025, claiming 81 wickets across formats at an average of 17.11 and surpassing a 40-year-old New Zealand record held by Richard Hadlee, which also saw him rise to No.1 in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings. He is now set to feature in RCB’s pace attack alongside Josh Hazlewood.
"I will play alongside Josh Hazlewood, who I've always admired, so I'm looking forward to getting in his ear and seeing what it's all about, what he's about and how he goes about his work," Duffy added.
Duffy expressed admiration for Hazlewood, who has been very pivotal in RCB’s recent success. With similar bowling fundamentals and approaches in T20 cricket, Duffy hopes to learn, replicate Hazlewood’s impact, and strengthen RCB’s pace attack in the forthcoming IPL 2026 season.
