Babar Azam and Haris Rauf roasted [Source: @academy_dinda, @CricCrazyJohns/x]
India cricket commentators Aakash Chopra and Parthiv Patel brutally roasted several members of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Both Chopra and Patel took a dig at Babar Azam after his lacklustre outing for the Sydney Sixers team in the recently-concluded BBL 2025-26 season.
Babar Azam’s teammate Haris Rauf was not sparred either, considering the fast-bowling maverick was excluded from Pakistan squad for the showpiece event despite returning with an exceptional season for the Melbourne Stars.
Babar Azam trolled in brutal Abhishek Sharma comparison
While speaking on the Star Sports network, Indian commentators and former cricketers Aakash Chopra and Parthiv Patel as well as prominent anchor Jatin Sapru discussed Pakistan’s 2026 T20 World Cup squad.
Addressing the T20I return of Babar Azam to the Pakistan team, Aakash Chopra expressed his surprise considering the senior batter struck just a handful of sixes for Sydney Sixers in BBL 2025-26.
Jatin Sapru further brutally compared the six-hitting stats of Babar Azam and India’s young opening dynamite Abhishek Sharma. Sapru said that while Babar has hit just 77 sixes in T20Is for Pakistan in his 10-year career so far, Abhishek has launched 86 sixes already in just 35 innings despite making his India debut a year-and-a-half ago.
Parthiv Patel joined in on the banter, claiming that even though Babar Azam represented Sydney Sixers in BBL this month, he was rather playing for the “Sydney Singles” instead.
Haris Rauf’s plane crashed, according to Aakash Chopra
Interestingly enough, the PCB excluded Haris Rauf from Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad even though the speedster was the only performing Pakistan player in the BBL 2025-26 season.
Taking a dig at his infamous “plane crash” celebration against India, Haris Rauf was brutally roasted by Aakash Chopra as the Indian commentator joked that the speedster now got his own plane crashed.

Haris Rauf, for once, did impressed one-and-all at the BBL 2025-26 season by picking up 20 wickets in just 11 innings for the Melbourne Stars. However, the speedster was reportedly dropped from the 2026 T20 World Cup squad owing to his disappointing 2025 Asia Cup final performance.
Compatible to the claims of the Indian commentators, Babar Azam underwent a debut BBL season to forget as the legendary Pakistani batter aggregated just 202 runs in 11 innings at a dismal strike rate of 103.06 and an average of 22.44.
