However, months before the contest begins, the schedule could already face a significant change involving one selected venue.The BCCI is reportedly considering a change after the Gautam Gambhir-led Indian team management raised concerns over one particular venue. However, according to a report from Abhishek Tripathi (Jagran News), following a request from the Indian team management, the BCCI could change the venue for the fourth Test.The BCCI has not taken a final decision on the proposed venue change, with Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Rajkot likely to be considered as alternatives for the fourth Test. Gautam Gambhir-led team management has reportedly raised concerns that fading daylight could reduce playing time during the Test.Ranchi's winter conditions could result in the game ending earlier because of limited natural light. With a five-day Test already requiring maximum playing time, the management reportedly wants a venue where daylight can be used more effectively.Guwahati could also see a small timing adjustment for the 3rd Test, although there is currently no indication of a venue change. The Test could begin around 30 minutes earlier, allowing both teams to make better use of available daylight.It is notable that MS Dhoni has a close connection with Ranchi. The former India captain has lived and continues to live in Ranchi. Ranchi has been Dhoni's birthplace and in 2019, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) gave him the ultimate honor by naming a pavilion in the Ranchi Stadium on MS Dhoni.BGT 2027 Significance For India's WTC Final ChancesThe BGT 2027 will kick off with Nagpur hosting the opening Test from January 21, followed by Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad. The final Test is scheduled to begin on February 27 and conclude on March 3.India's WTC 2025-27 campaign makes this series particularly important. India currently have 68 points and a 51.52 percentage, while Australia have 96 points. India need strong results across their remaining seven Tests to keep their qualification hopes alive too.The management's concern over daylight in Ranchi could therefore have wider implications, especially with Guwahati also included in the schedule.
