He comes from a typical cricketing family as his father, Moin Khan, is one of the greats of Pakistan cricket. Despite that, he has struggled with his fitness. Due to massive over-weight, he was always targeted brutally, and his struggle often impacted his cricketing performances.

Since the beginning of his career, Azam Khan has faced continuous criticism and silenced critics with the recent transformation. Along with that, another new chapter is set to unfold in his career. In the recently ended PSL auction, the Karachi Kings secured the wicketkeeper-batter in a lucrative deal, adding a boost to their squad.
Making his PSL debut back in 2018 for the Quetta Gladiators, he spent seasons struggling with his forgettable form. Joining Islamabad United in PSL 2022, he had the breakout season of his career. In 12 matches, he amasses 296 runs and announces his arrival in style. From there, he goes on to produce several sublime performances for the franchise.
In 61 games in the tournament, he scored 1206 runs along with six half-centuries and with a highest score of 97. As he is set to start a new journey with the Karachi Kings, he has set his eyes on some successful outings.
Karachi Kings ready to roar with revamped squad
After an average PSL campaign last year, Karachi Kings are determined to script a massive comeback this season. The groundwork for their revival began months ago with focused planning and bold decisions. As the franchise named the Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan, they added more firepower with some of the big names in world cricket.
They named the Australian great David Warner, with a record price of PKR 7.9 crore. They further bolster the lineup by bringing in Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha to add leadership and stability. Adding to this, ace Australian bowler Adam Zampa has been added to the squad. With the star-studded squad, the Karachi Kings will hunt for their second PSL trophy.
