RCB defeated CSK in IPL 2026 [Source: AP]
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been phenomenal in the IPL 2026. Led by Rajat Patidar, the defending champions have won two consecutive matches, showcasing their prowess in the lucrative league.
After defeating SRH in their tournament opener, RCB steamrolled arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday evening.
Tim David's stunning knock powered them to a massive total of 250 runs in 20 overs, while a superb collective bowling effort from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jacob Duffy, Abhinandan Singh and Krunal Pandya helped the Royal Challengers restrict their opponents to 207.
However, the Royal Challengers got an injury scare towards the fag end of the match, as one of their star performers was seen hobbling on the ground.
Jacob Duffy proves his mettle for RCB in Josh Hazlewood's absence
Ace Australian speedster Josh Hazlewood has missed two consecutive matches for RCB, as he is recovering from Achilles and hamstring injuries, which sidelined him from the T20 World Cup 2026.
In his absence, New Zealand speedster Jacob Duffy has emerged as RCB's go-to man in the powerplay.
The right-arm seamer dismantled the Sunrisers' batting line-up with a sensational three-wicket haul.

Although his economy was a bit on the higher side, Duffy picked crucial wickets of Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad, triggering Chennai's top-order collapse.
Jacob Duffy hobbles on ground during RCB vs CSK
After finishing his spell, Jacob Duffy gave a massive injury concern to RCB, as he started hobbling on the ground. The incident occurred at the end of the 19th over during CSK's tense run chase.
Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar completed his full quota of overs with magical figures of 3 for 41. After that, the RCB captain Rajat Patidar brought Duffy back into the attack to bowl his final over.
The New Zealand seamer was hit for a six and a four, conceding 14 runs off his final over. As he bowled his final delivery, Duffy looked slightly unhappy with his expensive bowling figures.
However, what concerned RCB more was the way he hobbled after finishing his over. The Royal Challengers have yet to issue a statement on his fitness status; so, he might have sustained a minor cramp following a valiant bowling effort on Bengaluru's placid batting surface.
What if Jacob Duffy is actually injured?
Although it's reckoned that Jacob Duffy might have had cramps in his legs, it will be disastrous for the Royal Challengers if he has actually developed an injury at this stage of the tournament.
There is no official confirmation on Josh Hazlewood's return, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to be RCB's most reliable bowler in the tournament.
Romario Shepherd and Abhinandan Singh have been expensive with the ball, while Yash Dayal has been sidelined from the tournament due to a personal crisis.
Meanwhile, Nuwan Thushara hasn't obtained the fitness clearance from the Sri Lanka Cricket to feature in the tournament.
Therefore, Duffy, who redeemed himself in the IPL 2026 after a miserable T20 World Cup campaign, will be a huge miss for RCB if his injury turns out to be serious.
