The committee is currently helmed by former India spinner Pragyan Ojha on an interim basis considering Ajit Agarkar recently stepped down from the high-profile role. The BCCI is actively looking for a candidate to fill a crucial position within the committee, and the member will be responsible for selecting India senior men’s international teams for Tests, ODI and T20I matches. An experience of either 10 ODI caps and 20 first class matches will also work in their favour, but the candidate should have retired from the game at least five years ago.BCCI seeking applications for Ajit Agarkar’s replacement candidate: ReportWhile the BCCI did not specify the exact position in its media release, the vacancy is understood to be for Ajit Agarkar’s replacement as the chairman of the senior men’s selection committee, as reported by veteran journalist Vikrant Gupta.The Indian board is expected to appoint a new chairman following Agarkar’s recent departure from the role.Vikrant Gupta added that the BCCI is eyeing a candidate from the West Zone. Moreover, if the selected candidate has played more than 24 Tests, he will become the chairman.
