0 Over the wicket, back of a length ball outside off stump, Smeed hangs back and bunts the ball into the off side towards extra covers.
10:11 AM IST, 09:41 PM Local Time: Hello and welcome back for the chase. Nicholas Pooran and Will Smeed will open for the Toronto Sixers, change in opening pair for them from the Semi-Final. Meanwhile, Ben Sanderson is all set to bowl the first over.
Obus Pienaar: "[On his knock] Yeah, thank you very much. It helped that I batted in the earlier game. You need some luck as well and I hit some off the middle. Hopefully, we can pull it through.
[Batting with Moeen Ali] I have played a couple of tournaments with him, what a guy and some of the shots he played were amazing.
[Working with Mickey Arthur] Yeah, Mickey has been really good, just had a quick chat. Everyone knows what they are doing, a lot of professionals there.
[Are you confident of winning the game?] It is going to be a good game, they have got a great batting line-up."
9:58 AM IST, 9:28 PM Local Time: Vancouver Anchors: 164/3! OUCH! That was brutal hitting from the Anchors. Had it been a movie, it would have been rated A for the extreme violence both Moeen Ali and Obus Pienaar showed with bat in hand. Well, mind you, for the first of the innings, it was nothing like that. Sixers were firmly in control of things. However, post the 5-over mark, it all just flipped around and the Anchors might just have a match-winning total here.
Toronto Sixers won the toss earlier and elected to bowl first. Aneurin Donald (17 off 9) and Aaron Johnson (14 off 10) got starts but could not convert it into something big. Martin Andersson at 3 suffered a 2-ball duck. Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers at that stage as he removed 2 off the top 3 batters. The Anchors were going slowly at 45/3 in 5 overs.
Moeen Ali and Obus Pienaar were at the crease at that point time and just flicked the switch out of nowhere. They started by taking down Abdul Toppin for 25 in the 6th over. Then Daniel Sams for 20 in the 7th. Followed by Tajinder Johal for 28 in the 8th. Shadley van Schalkwyk for 21 in the 9th and finally Abdul Toppin for 25 again in the 10th. They hammered 119 runs in just 5 overs. Obus Pienaar ended with a stunning 82 off 21 not out. Moeen Ali had 45 off 18 not out to his name. The pick of the bowlers for the Sixers was Imad Wasim for his 2/16. The rest of the lot went for runs big time. Tajinder Johal (0/41), Shadley van Schalkwyk (0/29), Daniel Sams (1/27) and Abdul Toppin (0/49) did not impress a great deal.
6 ONE MORE SIX TO ADD ICING ON THE CAKE! Short and angling in, Pienaar pulls it and gets a top-edge to fly over fine-leg for a maximum. This blitzkrieg means that the Vancouver Anchors post a mammoth 164/3 off their 10 overs! Simply stunning from Pienaar who has made an unbelievable 82* (21)!
