Another successful tournament comes to an end. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my colleagues Akshay Bhide, Zeeshan Naiyer, Chandan Kr Singh, Aman, and the entire Team CREX. It has been a pleasure bringing you all the action from the tournament. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE๐
Nevertheless, nothing can dampen the celebrations for the Women in Blue, who are the Champions of the Womenโs Asia Cup 2026! India remain unbeaten throughout the tournament and cap off a dominant campaign by clinching their 8th Asia Cup title. They were ruthless from start to finish in the Grand Finale here in Dubai.
The presentation ceremony was a brief affair, with no individual award winners being announced. Much like last year, India refused to accept the Asia Cup Trophy from the hands of ACC President Mohsin Naqvi.
12:15 AM IST & 10:45 PM Local Time: Oh, hello! It appears we are indeed witnessing a repeat of what unfolded during last yearโs Menโs Asia Cup Final. The Indian Women's team have refused to receive the Asia Cup Trophy from the President of the Asian Cricket Council, Mohsin Naqvi. The Indian team have made their stance clear, choosing not to accept the trophy from the ACC President.
Mohsin Naqvi arrived at the stadium right on cue, and once again, he has played spoilsport. Nonetheless, he cannot take away the result, nor can he take away the records. INDIA ARE CHAMPIONS OF ASIA ONCE AGAIN!

Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women Captain): "(Reflection on the game) Yeah, this is part and parcel of the game. One team will win, one team will lose. End of the day, I know we didn't play our best cricket in all the three departments, especially in our bowling in the powerplay. They batted really well but we know, we will bounce back. After this, we have the Asian Games coming up. We need to improve in couple of areas and we will bounce back.
(Lots of positives to take from this tournament) Yeah, apart from this game, we have played really good cricket throughout the tournament. We have managed to beat a couple of teams and today we struggled little bit but it doesn't mean that we are not good enough. We need to execute our plans and I hope we can bounce back in the next series as well.
(Who has been her standout performers for Sri Lanka in this tournament?) I feel lot of players improved a lot. They played really good cricket and especially, Harshitha, Nilakshi (de Silva) and Praboda."
