This brings us to the end of the coverage of the Sydney Smash from the BBL. That's it for today, do join us for the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Badal Pareek signing it off along with my Co-commentators Arijit and Karthik.
Sydney Thunders won the toss and decided to bowl first. Initially, it was all going according to plan but post powerplay it was all carnage from the Sixers. They managed to post a massive 197 on the board. Thunders got off to a decent start but once Steve O'Keefe came in, things changed drastically. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and could only manage 137 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs. The Sixers won the Sydney Smash by 60 runs.
In the first innings, the Sixers had a slow start as Jack Edwards was sent back early by Gurinder Sandhu, the quick bowled an inswinging delivery, Edwards tried to play it towards the leg side but awkwardly landed it in the hands of the man at mid-wicket. Josh Phillipe and Hughes took a cautious approach post his dismissal and helped the team build the innings, Phillipe played a brilliant knock of 57 runs, the batter's knock was brought to an end by McAndrew. Skipper Moises Henriques was next to bat and had a verbal scuffle with Mohammad Hasnain. Henriques put the pedal on the accelerator in the final overs, as he smashed the bowlers to the cleaners to help his team past 190 with an unbeaten 47 off 27 deliveries. McAndrew and Daniel Sams picked up two wickets each for the Thunder, while Gurinder Sandhu had to settle with a single dismissal. The target for the Thunders was 197 runs and at the halfway mark it was all set to be a cracker of a game.
The Thunders in reply got off to a decent start, they were 42 for 1 after 5 overs. Then came the veteran spinner Steve O'Keefe who dismantled the top order of the Thunders and ensured his team a victory by picking up 4 wickets of his four overs. They lost two wickets in the first over of O'Keefe and never really got going. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Only 5 batters managed to score 10 runs or more and only three of them managed to get past 20 runs. Chris Green the skipper played a lone hand as he notched up a half-century. His innings came a touch too late as the damage was already done. The Thunders could only manage 137 runs in their 20 overs. The Sixers won the match by 60 runs.

0 A bouncer from Moises and the batter swings and misses. Very well bowled by Henriques and beats the top edge of Hasnain. Sydney Sixers beats the Thunders by 60 runs.
19.5 M Henriques to T Sangha
1 Shuffles across the line and ramps it this time to get a single near short fine leg.
W In the air this time and this is taken!! Finally Chris Green is gone as he miscues the length delivery down to deep mid wicket. he falls over while playing the shot and therefore doesn't time it well.
