It was like a wrecking ball against a house of cards — barely a contest. Sri Lanka Women made light work of it as they steamrolled the hosts to get their title defence off to the perfect start. That leaves UAE Women with plenty of questions to ponder upon before their next game.

[How crucial was the toss?] It was crucial, but it's a toss. It can go either way, so you need to be ready for both the fronts. We didn't take, as a top order, the responsibility to get a good score on the board.
[On the upcoming break and big 2 games] It is a good thing that we have quite a few days in between, so we know what we need to work on. We can get back to our skills, and after the rest hopefully we have two good games."

The bowlers set it up for the visitors before an unbeaten 48 from Chamari Athapaththu and runs from opener Imesha Dulani took them over the line without breaking a sweat.
