That will be all from our side as we close our coverage of this Women's Asia Cup 2024 encounter between Thailand Women and Sri Lanka Women. For now, it will be the pair of Soumarya Dutta and Deepak Prakash taking your leave on behalf of our Scorer/Analyst Manish Bishnoi. See you soon!
Here are the semifinal fixtures of this Women's Asia Cup:πŸ‘‡

Semifinal 1: India Women vs Bangladesh Women

Semifinal 2: Sri Lanka Women v Pakistan Women
Chamari Athapaththu(Sri Lanka Women)- "I don't want to take any risk and I'm really enjoying my cricket at this stage of my career. I am just seeing the ball and hitting the ball. I'm working hard on my hitting skills in the net and it paid off. I was thinking of winning the game and not about my individual performance. For us, it's one game at a time. We want to be serious but not put too much pressure on ourselves."
Player of the Match: Chamari Athapaththu
Thipatcha Puttawong (Thailand Women Captain): "It's been a great experience playing against big teams. We're learning a lot. This is my first time as captain, and I saw how aggressive the big teams play. We need to learn from that and move forward. We'll take back wonderful memories and hopefully come back to win more games."
Time for the post-match presentation...
21:20 IST and Local Time- Sri Lanka Women win by 10 wickets and with 51 balls remaining in the innings. Chamari Athapaththu remains stranded on 49 and it's a bit of an anti-climax in the end. But nevertheless it has been an absolute demolition job from the hosts who have completely outplayed Thailand Women in all aspects of the game. Sri Lanka march on to the semifinals and Thailand will have to bow out of the competition.

Sri Lanka Women started off slowly as Vishmi Gunaratne took her time early on. Chamari kept the scoreboard ticking over in the powerplay with a few big shots especially some sixes. However Thailand kept things economical and gave away only 40 runs in the powerplay.

Sutthiruang and skipper Puttawong managed to keep the openers quite till about the 8th over when they broke free. Gunaratne went berserk and took the momentum towards Sri Lanka. Chamari continued with the onslaught continued to pile on the misery on the hapless bowlers who didn't stand a chance against her might.
11.3 P Maya to C Athapaththu
1b Short of a length delivery angling away outside the off-stump. Athapaththu throws her bat at it but misses. The keeper fails to collect and the pair run for a bye run. Athapaththu remains unbeaten on 49 runs. Sri Lanka Women win by 10 wickets and 51 balls to spare, finishing unbeaten in the group stage fixture.
11.2 P Maya to C Athapaththu
2 Full and around off. Athapaththu whacks it to wide long-on for a couple of runs. The fielder in the deep moves to her left and does well to stop it. The scores are level. Athapaththu moves to 49...
