Temba Bavuma: Guys came with an open mind, and had to be brave. We have been good in the first six overs, but in the end, we weren't able to capitalise. All in all, the score we put on was a par score. Shamsi and George were amazing; for a captain, it makes things a lot easier. We always go to our pace bowlers, and the conditions needed to mix it up

Keiron Pollard: We know South Africa would come hard. It was just a matter of bowling good balls, and we were pretty happy with 166. It was a matter of playing smart cricket. We lost three wickets from the seventh to the 11th over. We are not going to hide away from the fact, but will continue to play aggressive cricket because that is our strength. McCoy taking the responsibility of bowling the death overs matters, lot of positives for us.

George Linde: I just went back to basics, the things got me into this team and it worked today. I think it was my day, and Shamsi has been exceptional for us the last few series. We had a team chat this morning and we know we could have done better yesterday and luckily today we did. Today was a lot slower (surface) and it spun as well and when that happens I'm always in the game. I was trying to slide it across the left-handers and I know they can hit those big shots and it was a deliberate plan.

Bravo also got a thick outside-edge flying to the third-man fence but he holed out to the man at deep mid-wicket of the final delivery in that over. The West Indies required 38 off the last two overs but Allen's decision to take a single off the second delivery back-fired as Obed McCoy played out four dot balls. The hosts needed an improbable 36 off the last six balls while Allen brought some excitement with two sixes off two balls. Lungi Ngidi bowled a dot delivery next up while a wide followed. Thereafter, Allen struck another six before being pinned in front by an in-swinging yorker. In the end, South Africa wrapped up a 17-run win.

West Indies continued to collapse as Linde bagged the big scalp of Andre Russell for just five runs. This dismissal saw Jason Holder walk out to the middle but the pair of Shamsi and Nortje bowled very tightly to increasing the required run-rate for the hosts. Fletcher eventually departed off Rabada's bowling in the 16th over while Holder was run-out a couple of deliveries later. At this stage, West Indies required 63 runs off 22 balls with just three wickets remaining. Dwayne Bravo came out and got a fortuitous boundary while Fabian Allen made things interestingly with two sixes off Rabada's bowling.

Chris Gayle came out and started with a bang by pulling Nortje for a boundary but he was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada in the very next over. Thereafter, the SA spin duo of George Linde and Tabraiz Shamsi strung a few dots as Andre Fletcher started to really slow down. Linde also went onto pick up Pooran's wicket in the ninth over while Shamsi got the better of Keiron Pollard in the next over courtesy an excellent catch from Reeza Hendricks

With that, the Proteas square this five match series 1-1. At the half-way mark, it seemed like West Indies did superbly to restrict South Africa to just 166-7. Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher came out with their usual aggressive intent as the West Indies raced onto 27 off three overs. However, Lewis had to depart after making just 21 as he misjudged a length delivery from Anrich Nortje to witness the stumps shattered
