That's it from all of us today. Do tune in at 7 p.m. for our coverage of the 2nd semi-final. This is Nikhil Kulkarni, along with my colleagues, Akshay Bhide and Arijit Kundu signing off. Take Care.
Nikhil: Earlier today Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bat first. Bharat Sharma was out in the first over trying to cut past the gap through cover point. Aditya Garhwal played some lovely shots to get the run rate up. He was dropped on 5 by Shahrukh Khan and he went onto make 29. Menaria and Arijith got together and built a partnership. Maneria who had a poor tournament so far switched gears and smashed 19 runs in one over of Aswin Crist. He went onto score 51 off 32 balls and got out in the 13th over. Lomror came into bat but couldn't play the kind of innings he did in the last match. Arjit Gupta followed him immediately and got out after scoring 45. Rajasthan lost quick wickets and scored only 34 runs in their seven overs losing 7 wickets. They were looking good to get 180 at one stage after scoring 100 in 11 overs but couldn't capitalize on the good start.
Arun Karthik is the man of the match.
Nikhil: Tamil Nadu moves to the finals of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20. Their unbeaten run continues in the tournament. Tamil Nadu lost early wickets in the chase and needed someone to bat long. Arun Karthik and Jagdeesan stitched a partnership of 57 runs and stabilized the chase. Jagdeesan couldn't go onto make a big score. Dinesh Karthik joined Arun Karthik and both played sensibly. Rajasthan had a runout chance in the 13th over but the keeper couldn't hit the stumps. Arun Karthik would have been in the pavilion if that was hit and he was on 44. He went onto score 89. Dinesh Karthik was dropped in the 15th over and Arun Karthik was dropped twice in back to back deliveries in the 17th over. It was too late for Rajasthan to come back into the game after so many drops. It has been a very mature chase anchored by Arun Karthik. Dinesh Karthik was good behind the stumps and batted well with Arun Karthik and stitched an 89 runs partnership.
18.4 Aniket Choudhary to Arun Karthik
4 Shorter one to Arun, Right in his chest past leg stump line, The batsman hoicks it finer behind the keeper and the ball races away for a fantabulous boundary. Prejudges that, came in the back foot, to give him the timing he required and pulls nit off in wonderful shape. Tamil Nadu enters into the final, just like a boss - twice in two monotonous seasons.
18.3 Aniket Choudhary to Arun Karthik
0 fuller, into the stumps, the batsman goes for a biggie but mistimes it towards short midwicket.
18.2 Aniket Choudhary to Arun Karthik
4 Shorter one, angling outwards from the batsman, and Arun KArthik piercing the fgaps like a trace of bullet. Whattt a short!!stupendous here from the batsman along the covers/.
