So that's the end of this exciting contest between the Scorchers and Thunder. Hope you have enjoyed all the action here at our network. Stay tuned for more cricketing action coming from all around the globe. For now, this is me Ajay Ahire signing it off along with my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Arijit Kundu. Until then stay safe and stay cool...
Gurinder Sandhu|Player of the match: "I literally had no idea, I've taken a hattrick, I stopped by, asked you later, and then I got to know. I would've done some special ball had I known it was a hattrick ball, but didn't quite need it. After last year, I didn't know if I could come back to Thunders after my performance. Certainly feels good, it's home, family's here. It always gives you a lot of belief when you beat the top two teams. Everyone is really doing well in some match or the other. Someone's batting well, someone's bowling. Can't wait for the day when all of us click well together."
That's it and Sydney Thunder got the victory here. They beat the Scorchers by 6 wickets. 4 wins on the bounce for the Sydney Thunder and they collect all 4 points here.
Chasing 134 Thunder started off well here as they scored 40 runs in the first 5 overs. That was a good start considering they were chasing the below-par score. Matthew Gilkes was the one who scored quickly in that partnership as he scored 32 runs from 23 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. As he was undone by the slower ball from AJ Tye.
On the other hand, Alex Hales kept on struggling throughout the innings as he failed to time the ball throughout. He scored 26 runs from 32 balls and after playing 4 consecutive dot balls of Aj Tye's over he played a horrific slash and throws his wicket away. Jason Sangha the young sensation looked in fine touch as he scored 34 runs from 26 balls. But his stay was coming to an end as Kelly was gone through his stumps.
After the departure of Jason Sangha, both Billings and Davies played exceptionally well and stirred Thunder home. As Olivier Davies scored 19 runs from 10 balls with the help of 2 big hits. The Englishman Sam Billings also scored 19 runs from just 11 balls and delivered the finishing punch to the match.
With the ball, Andrew Tye picked up a couple of wickets but he was expensive at the end of the innings. As he gave away 38 runs in his 4 overs spell. Tymal Mills was economical but failed to enforce a dismissal here. So all and all brilliant combine effort from thunder batters as well as bowlers to get their 4th win a row. time for the presentations now...
16.6 A Tye to S Billings
4 Change up from Tye, pace on, and Billings smacks it down the ground for a boundary to bring up the glory. On the hard length from Aj, near the off, and Billings was all set for this sort of length. Finishes the match with an over to spare.
16.6 A Tye to D Sams
1nb Slower fulltoss and this one jags past to catch the thick edge of the blade. Single stolen and the umpire has signaled it a wide. It's surely above the waist.
Umpire's Review for a Run Out and well it's OUT. The bat is short of the crease. Davies goes.
16.5 A Tye to S Billings
W Back of a length slower one from Tye, and the batter gets a thin edge back to the strip. They run hard for a single, and a direct hit from the bowler makes it look that Davies is in trouble. Yes, it's a goner as Tye makes an impeccable effort to dive in the air and make the direct hit while Davies is short of entering the crease.
