We've had back-to-back last-ball thrillers in the Hong Kong Sixes 2026! The action continues as Oman and South Africa get ready to lock horns in the next encounter. Do switch tabs to follow that game.
9:17 AM IST, 11:37 AM Local Time: UAE Sixes win by 1 wicket! Phew! What a thriller was that? UAE sixes were in a tricky position at the halfway stage of the match and the halfway stage of the chase. The last 3 overs have written a different story, and they have given Pakistan a pure shock. It will be tough for the 'Men in Green' to recover from this one.
Pakistan Sixes won the toss and elected to bat first. Khawaja Nafay could not get going in his 3 off 4 balls. The bulk of the runs came from Abdul Samad (39 off 15) and Abbas Afridi (53 off 13). The latter had to be retired out because of the tournament rules. Pakistan with these contributions made it to 106/2 in 6 overs. Maroof Merchant and Muhammad Farooq were amongst the wickets for UAE.
UAE Sixes stumbled early on in the chase. Khalid Shah was doing the heavy lifting from one end while, Ansh Tandon (0) and Muhammad Zuhaib (7 off 4) could only manage single digits. A 9-run wicket taking over from Abdul Samad forced the equation to swell to 61 off the last 18 balls. That is where the match flipped around. Khalid Shah took down his match-up in Saad Masood for 24 runs as he smoked 4 sixes. He crossed 50 and had to retire as per the rules. However, UAE played smartly with the rules. The likes of Maroof Merchant (2 off 3) and Muhammad Farooq (DNB) retired themselves out to allow Khalid back onto the field. He continued the onslaught before getting dismissed for 71 off 20. UAE needed 8 runs off 2 balls. Zahid Ali (22* off 8) did the finishing job by smoking a 4 and 6 to see UAE over the line.

6 Zahid Ali seals the deal for UAE! They have pulled off a stunning victory over the defending champions here in Mong Kok. Jubilant scenes in the middle as Zahid is absolutely ecstatic. His teammates rush onto the field to join the two batters and celebrate this memorable win. Short of a good length drifting down leg. Another horrible delivery from Irfan Khan. Zahid uses the pace of the ball, gets inside the line and helps it away flat and hard over the fine leg fence for a maximum. UAE win by 1 wicket!
Zahid Ali keeps the game alive. He finds the fence and UAE need 4 runs to win off the final ball.
