That's it for today from the Super Smash. Do join us for the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Badal Pareek signing it off along with my Co-commentators Jatin and Rahul.
Otago won the toss and decided to bat first. Otago got off to a flyer as they managed to score 40 runs in the first four overs. But, once the first wicket went down things took a quick turn. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jones 35(26) was the only top-order batter to get into the groove. Thanks to Anaru Kitchen 54(34) and Rippon 28(25), they managed to put on a decent first innings total of 166. Wellington also started their innings in some fashion with Allen smashing Otago all over the park. Once Allen was dismissed things did slow down a touch as they kept losing wickets every now and then. Robinson quietly went about his business scoring the bulk of the runs for Wellington. He kept losing partners at the other end but his 65 runs off 49 balls helped Wellington claim a wicket victory. Nathan Smith played a gem of an innings at the death. He scored 38* off 18 balls to finish things off in style as Wellington won by 5 wickets.
Smith you beauty!! Take a bow. Finishes off with a six. Incredible batting this by Smith. Wellington Firebirds win by 5 wickets with 4 balls to go.
19.2 J Duffy to N Smith
6 SIX AGAIN! FINISH! Flicked away for a six, man greatness from Smith. Duffy bowls a low full toss on legs and Smith will take that for sure.
Going speechless to describe that shot! Where did it come from. Superb from Smith.
19.1 J Duffy to N Smith
6 What a shot that it is? Six to start the over. Bowls on stumps and Smith plays a reverse scoop over keeper for a six.
