Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain): "(Thoughts on the win) It was stressful in the end. But happy to get on the right side. I think the partnership between Annerie and Sune was a nice one. Though we lost quick wickets post that. Eventually we held our nerves.
(Few words on Ayabonga Khaka) Khaka is bowling really well for us. She can bowl in all phases. She helps us in the powerplay, in the middle and in the death.
(Positives from this game) I think a lot of positives to take out of this game. The way we bowled was good. It was nice to keep them at bay for long and eventually win the game. I think we executed really well with the ball. Did not happen in the T20s but it did today and yeah, some key partnerships also helped us out in the middle"
Amelia Kerr (New Zealand Women Captain): "(Approach with the ball) Yeah, I think we tried to get wickets early. Brits in the first over was a good one. We bowled good balls, but they were off to a flyer. We pulled things back in the end but unfortunately, we were on the wrong side.
(On her bowling out in one go) I don't see it making any sense in 50 over cricket to leave a 1 over spell. I was feeling hot and wanted to bowl out my overs.
(Positives) I think Maddy batted beautifully and she put up a good score for us. It was nice to see the lower order go bang bang. Maybe if I batted with Maddy for longer we would have gotten past 280.
(Areas of concerns) Yeah, a few drop catches did not help today. We pride ourselves on fielding but no worries. We shall bounce back."
Kayla Reyneke (Player of the Match): "[On the finish] I'm just trying to enjoy every moment. As a youngster, just trying to soak everything in. Credit to the batters at the top of the order, they laid down a solid foundation and it helped us to take it home towards the end.
[Mental thought on the last ball] Six was going through my mind, honestly. Wherever, through the line, over the base.
[On the final stages of the match] I think probably staying calm is the most important, and we were trying to take it ball-by-ball. As a youngster, you want to experience and learn as much as possible.
[On finishing the match on debut] Cricketing brands that we have are crazy, and it's something really special. You want to be a sponge and learn. I just want to win for my team and my country.
[On plans tonight] I am not going to sleep early, haha. We'll see."
