Tugral| 2.00 PM IST|So, we are done here with the visitors winning the game with relative ease as they just had 212 to chase against the hosts in Northampton. Warwickshire won the match by 6 wickets.
When the Warwickshire opener came out to chase a huge score of 212 runs, Sterling put 21 runs on the board in the very first over, but on the first ball of the second over, Sterling was caught in the keeper’s catch. Warwickshire got the first blow in the form of Stirling. He played an entertaining knock and scored 17 off 7 balls. After that dismissal, Hain joined Yates in the middle, both the players were cheaply settled in the affair of playing an aggressive inning. Warwickshire had lost three of their batters for 44 runs and the whole team was under pressure.
After that, Hose and Davies took command of the team’s sinking innings and made a wonderful partnership of 63 runs for the fourth wicket. Davies fell short Heldreich as he got out after a quick-fire cameo of 42 off 18 balls. After that dismissal, Benjamin joined Hose in the middle, together they put up an important partnership of 100 runs for the 5th wicket and brought the match to a good turn. Both the batters took some time to understand the pitch, when both were set, they started batting in an aggressive manner. While giving respect to the good balls and they were not hesitant to send the poor balls off the ground. Hose(63* off 44) and Benjamin(58* off 31) played a quick-fired unbeaten knock to help Warwickshire to win the match by 6 wickets.
On the other hand, Sanderson was the pick of the bowlers for Northamptonshire he took 2 wickets and gave away 18 runs in his 3 overs. Sisodiya and Taylor took one wicket each.
Earlier in the day, The openers added 72 runs for the first wicket in 50 deliveries before the Bears. Lynn rode on his luck and completed his half-century and the star of the show Saif Zaib (74 off 32) completely blew away the Warwickshire bowling attack. Skipper Cobb (13* off 9), Rob Keogh (11 off 6), and wicketkeeper Lewis McManus (10 off 3) played useful cameos at the back end to push the score beyond 200 as the hosts finish at 211 for six.
