But the day does not culminate here. There is more action in The Hundred to follow. Switch tabs to tune into Trent Rockets vs Birmingham Phoenix, which is starting in a little while from now.
After losing three games on a trot, Manchester Super Giants bounced back to register an emphatic win. Jos Buttler scored a swashbuckling 51* (20) and, in the process, became the all-time leading run-getter in T20 cricket.
Jos Buttler (Manchester Super Giants Captain): "[On his innings and the win] We are delighted with that. I think at halftime, we weren't sure whether it was a good score or not. 150 for 4 is quite a confusing score, I thought the 2 boys at the top started outstandingly well and then gave us the chance to chase it down quickly.

[Message to the openers] Actually, we were talking about breaking the chase into small chunks. I think when you need 150 off 100 balls, it can get a little confusing. We talked about the first 25, work on small targets and get into your innings, the two boys did that really well.

[On his own form] Funny how quickly cricket can change. One day you're the dog, one day you're the lamp post. A few months ago I was struggling for form. And then, in the last few weeks especially, I probably feel like I'm batting as well as I ever have. It's been a lot of fun.

[What has changed since he was out of form] You've only ever got two options. You either give up or you got the energy to keep going and try to rediscover your form. So that's all the things I've been focussing on. I've had energy and determination to try and get back there, and that's what I've done.

[On becoming the leading run-scorer in T20s] Yeah, it's really cool actually to think you've got the most T20 runs out of everyone. Someone will surpass it one day and his name's probably Sooryavanshi. But no, it's a proud moment. Actually, we played against MI London last game, would've been nice to get past Polly while he was there, sitting in the dugout. Some great names on there (the list of the leading run-getters), some special players, so yeah I'm really proud of that.

[On his shoulder movement] It happened years ago. I was working with a coach who had me standing front-on and I felt horrible. So he was like "just relax, shake yourself out" and that's where it came from. During the IPL, I worked really hard on my technique. I do think that after the World Cup I had some space and time from the game and I just watched a few things. I'd say my setup had slipped a little bit. I actually felt like I'm not in a position where I'm picking the ball up well. I looked back at some footage, sort of reverse-engineered it as to where do I want to finish when the ball is released and worked back from there. Worked hard on that in the IPL and I've been continuing to do that.

[On not getting time off to work on your technique] That's where the IPL has been fantastic for me. It's really interesting, what comes first - the chicken or the egg. Is it your technique that allows your mind to be relaxed or is it your mind that's relaxed that allows your technique to work. You've just got to work out which is the one you're trying to fix that will help the other.

[On where he wants his game to be] I enjoy the craft of batting. I enjoy trying to work it out. It's easy to give up and sort of throw it away and say "I've lost it or whatever". I enjoy the feeling of being in there and scoring runs. And when you're out of form, I actually just miss batting. So you wanna get back to doing that, contributing to your team and experiencing that. So as long as I've got that enjoyment of the craft and the energy to try and work out of bad form or patches when it's not working, I'll keep going. When I don't have the energy - you can't come back when it's not working if you haven't got the mind to try and work it out.

[On MSG's squad] So important, he's really contributed well to our win. He's had to wait for his chance. He brings something different. The way he played out there, it was absolutely fantastic"

[On having an extra bowling option with the addition of Bracewell] Yeah, sometimes you got too many. Manchester weather is coming here. That's the thing about cricket, you always feel short somewhere, wanting an extra batter or a bowler. I think we need to work on our fielding. It is something we can control, and can improve that."

Tim Seifert (POTM): "[On the conditions] Yeah, look I think trademark of our innings kind of so far is being losing wickets. So we just tried to maintain and get a good start and just maintain that run rate. Yeah, then Buttler coming in and doing what he did was quite nice to watch at the other end.

[Batting with Paul Walter] Yeah, there was quite a strong wind out there. Having a left-right combination definitely put the bowlers off. Credit to him, first game of the tournament, showing what he can do. It also shows that we have a strong squad as well.

[On the Hundred] Yeah, it is quite hard to decide what tempo to go about it. But look, opening the batting, you are going to get caught at the other end. Not necessarily get strike. Momentum is the main thing, it is nice that both of us got going today.

[On the upcoming games] Yeah, look we got two big games coming up. This tournament is so fast, we need to adapt to the wicket as the surfaces have been different all throughout but this win will hopefully be a booster for us."
