After the 3 wickets in quick succession, MI Cape Town posted 32 runs in a power play. Grant Roelofsen and Rassie van der Dussen tried to build some partnership but their progress was halted as Grant Roelofsen departed for 34 runs off 30 balls. Ryan Rickelton (5 runs off 4 balls), Dewald Brevis (2 runs off 10 balls), and Sam Curran (2 runs 3 balls) Fail to impress with the bat, While Delano Potgieter didn’t open his account. Rassie van der Dussen who scored 49 runs off 42 balls was the top scorer for MI Cape Town, While Grant Roelofsen scored 34 runs off 30 balls which helped MI Cape Town to post 142 runs in 20 overs.
On the flip side, Fortuin, Lungi Ngidi, Frisco Adams, and Shamsi extracted a couple of wickets each.
While chasing a small target of 143 runs, Jos Buttler and Jason Roy opened for Paarl Royal. They were backfoot in the powerplay as they lost 3 wickets in quick succession, they managed to post 27 runs in a powerplay. Jason Roy (4 runs off 8 balls), Wihan Lubbe (0 run off 1 ball), and Dane Vilas (2 runs off 8 balls) fails to impress with the bat and they were the batter to depart in the powerplay. Buttler and Miller tried to build some partnership but their progress was halted as Miller departed in 15.1 over, then Buttler hit some mighty boundaries but departed by Archer in 18.1 over. After that MI Cape won the match by 13 runs. Jos Buttler was the top run scorer, scoring 68 runs off 58 balls, While David Miller Scored 26 runs off 24 balls. On the flip side, George Linde, and Kagiso Rabada chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Jofra Archer and Rashid Khan extracted a solitary wicket each.
A good win for MI Cape Town and they will look to carry the momentum in the upcoming matches. On the other side, Paarl Royals need to regroup and come back stronger in the upcoming matches.
