Rain shortened it. The Royals stretched it. Mumbai couldn’t match it. Powerplay decided it. Jaiswal defined it. Bowlers sealed it. A 27-run win… and a statement. Short game. Big impact. And as they say… sometimes less overs… more chaos.
The next fixture in IPL 2026 is between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, to be played in Delhi on Wednesday, 8th April.
Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentators, AkshayaKrishnaPolya, Darpan Tikiya, scorers Paras Yadav,Manish Bishnoi, and statistician Aman. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!!
Yashasavi Jaiswal (Player of the Match): (On his approach in an 11-over game) “I had a plan in my mind because there were only 3 overs of powerplay. I was thinking which bowlers I could target and how to take down certain overs. When I saw Deepak come in, I thought I could go after him. Then, when Bumrah came, I thought maybe Vaibhav could take him on, and I would target someone else. I was constantly thinking about which bowler to attack and what shots to play.
(On switching between formats) It’s not easy, but I try my best. During preparation, I focus on improving and developing different shots. Understanding which shots to play on different wickets helps me.
(On adapting his innings based on situations) I try to understand what the team needs. If a certain approach or shot is required, I go for it. My focus is always to put the team first and play according to the situation.
(On batting with a young partner like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi) He’s been playing tremendously well and works very hard. Watching him motivates me, too. We talk about how to approach bowlers, and I always encourage him to play freely and confidently.
(On whether he plays the senior role between them) I don’t think of it like that. He understands the game very well and is capable on his own. He’s enjoying his cricket and playing unbelievably well.”

Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals captain): "(Thoughts on winning the first three matches) Feels great. The way that the boys have showed up in every game, I cannot ask for anything more.
(How does he view the team?) I have always known this team to be a strong team. Even when we had the auction, I knew we were a strong team. We have a strong core and they are all pretty young too. Everyone outside did not believe in us. But I hope we keep on performing like this.
(On the two opening bowlers) Jofra's messaging is to go out there and bowl as fast as he can. Nandre as well. I think on their own days, they are quick, lethal and so much in control. To have such control when you're bowling at 145-150 is crazy.
(On Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal) I don't have any words to express. They are no.1 (opening pair in the IPL). First of all, they have got age on their side and the talent they posses. Vaibhav is incredible. It is not just one way slogging. If you see in Ahmedabad, he assessed the conditions and then, went for it. Yashasvi has been doing it for 3-4 years. So their skills combined with the maturity they have, it is amazing."
