That brings an end to our coverage of this game. This is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Sachin Yadav. Bye bye.
Montreal Royal Tigers fall agonizingly short by 2 runs. As a result, they remain winless in the competition as they suffer their third straight loss. Mississauga Masters, on the other hand, register hat-trick of wins as they retain their top position in the points table.
Sikandar Raza (Mississauga Masters Captain): "[Did you learn anything about your men today?] Yeah, firstly, it shows that we can win batting first as well. I think there was a myth going around that not many teams had won batting first.

Yeah, so it was nice to bat first and win the game. We’ve got such a good batting and bowling lineup as well. What I learned today was that the wicket could be variable tomorrow as well. I think the bat-and-ball contest will be slightly better. I felt there were a lot of boundaries, but there were also a lot of dot balls that Munro and I faced. So, I think that’s the lesson for us as a team."
Andre Russell (Montreal Royal Tigers Captain): “[Every ball matters in this format, isn't it?] Yeah, I think every ball matters. When you keep bowling those balls, you have to rely on change-ups. The ball was coming onto the bat nicely and there wasn't much room for error. We started well. With the ball, we needed to keep picking up wickets. When you have a partnership, it was important to finish off. We have to keep getting better."
Player of the Match: Sikandar Raza
1:31 PM IST, 1:01 AM Local Time: The match went down to the wire, but David Wiese held his nerve in the crunch moments to help Mississauga Masters secure a thrilling two-run victory. With the win, Mississauga Masters have maintained their perfect record, winning all three games they have played so far, while Montreal Royal Tigers have now suffered three defeats in a row.
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Mississauga Masters posted a formidable 125/2, scoring 39 runs in the final two overs. They were given an early setback when Alex Lees fell for eight, but Colin Munro and Sikandar Raza steadied the innings with an important 80-run partnership. Munro gradually found his rhythm after a slow start, while Raza played an aggressive knock and took the attack to the bowlers. Munro fell for 47, just three short of his fifty, but Raza continued his onslaught and brought up a 24-ball fifty, finishing unbeaten on 50. David Wiese provided a late boost with an unbeaten 12 off four balls. For Montreal Royal Tigers, Isuru Udana and captain Andre Russell claimed one wicket each.
Montreal Royal Tigers came agonisingly close in a thrilling run chase but fell short as Mississauga Masters held their nerve in the final over. They got off to a shaky start, losing Toby Albert for a duck and Brett Hampton for just one. Josh Brown and Tajinder Singh then launched a brilliant counterattack, adding 82 runs to put the chase firmly back on track. Tajinder was particularly aggressive, smashing 61 off just 26 balls, including five fours and six sixes, while Brown remained unbeaten on 22 off 15.
Andre Russell kept the momentum going with a quickfire 27 off 11 balls, and the chase went down to the final over. With 19 runs needed, Russell produced a stunning burst to bring the equation down to four runs from two balls. David Wiese (1/30) was entrusted with the final over and delivered under immense pressure. He trapped Russell on the penultimate ball, turning the game back in his side’s favour, before holding his nerve on the final delivery to deny the required runs.
