Milestone
We have been treated to an absolute run fest today at the Gaddafi Stadium. The rain gods did delay the start of the match, but some excellent groundwork by the staff of Gaddafi helped the teams in getting things underway. In what was decided to be a 13-over contest we saw 350 runs being scored in all.

We shall be back tomorrow with what we hope is a better forecast for Match number 12 between the RawalPindiZ and the Islamabad United at 7:30 PM IST and 7 PM Local Time.

On this note, I, Manan Mehta would like to sign off alongside my colleagues Saptak Sanyal and Paras Yadav. A special thanks to our helping buddy Mohammad Anab. B-byee folks!
Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "(The target you set was very good) Our simple plan was to play your own shot. The way Naeem and Emon started was what the team needed. Also Abdullah Shafique chipped in and played really well.

(On the use of Sikandar Raza) We have top bowlers as pacers. Fizz is here. Haris is here and also Ubaid is a top bowler. Sikandar is our number one all-rounder. Why we will not use him in these conditions?

(Great comeback after the loss against Karachi Kings) Not a tough loss or anything like that. One of the best games it was in my nine years with the Lahore Qalandars family. We went very hard and took the game to the final over.

(On the injury scare of Asif Ali and Parvez Hossain Emon) They are good."
Ashton Turner (Multan Sultans Captain): "(On the loss) Yeah, I mean, we weren’t at our absolute best in that first half of the game. We know that we’ve got lots of room for improvement. You know, the good thing was that we kept fighting. The frustrating thing is that there were a lot of things in our control. I think no-balls, wides, overthrows—things that just require a bit of effort—and we need to tidy that up.

(On the strategy for upcoming games) Yeah, I mean, you’re never going to win every game in a tournament like this to finish with the trophy. So, you know, it’s not the end of the world when you lose a game, but we need to have a good, hard look at ourselves. We need to come back refreshed. We need to find a way to get up. We’ve got a heavy block of games coming up, and we need to find a way to restrict opposition sides and continue the form with the bat."
Mohammad Naeem (Player of the Match): "(What were the plans for the rain reduced game?) We had a simple plan to play our game which we have been playing since the start. The idea was to keep things very simple and that worked.

(On the partnership with Emon and getting the boundaries early) These partnerships actually help the team. It is easy to get support from the other end but I play my game in such a way that it doesn't affect me on how the other is playing at the other end.

(On the work ahead of this edition of PSL) Hard work is behind everything. But I tried to play what I have played over the years to help my team.
Player of the Match: Mohammad Naeem
Catch of the Match: Abdullah Shafique (For taking the catch of Sahibzada Farhan)
Superpower of the Day: Parvez Hossain Emon (Striking at 236)
Energetic Batter of the Match: Abdullah Shafique (33 off 14 balls)
Moment of the Match: Parvez Hossain Emon (Three sixes back to back against Faisal Akram)
