Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Soumarya Dutta, and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Also, a special thanks to our helping buddy, Abhishek Sharma. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!
And now, the players line up behind the WINNERS board, joined by the Middlesex support staff, before skipper Ben Geddes finishes his interview and makes his way over to join the celebrations. One by one, they lift the trophy, cheer, and pose together for the cameras, soaking in the moment as Middlesex celebrate their maiden One-Day Cup title.
And with Scriven’s wicket at 44.2, the celebrations began in Nottingham: Middlesex are England’s One-Day Cup champions for the first time, after a final that swung dramatically from 71/5 to 231, from 79/5 to Kelly’s century, and finally to 200 all out. What a final, and what a way for Middlesex to bring home their first One-Day Cup crown.
For Middlesex, this was ultimately a final won by rescue acts in both departments. Higgins and Duke first hauled them out of trouble with the bat after the top order had failed, while Roland-Jones and the seamers then made sure Kelly’s extraordinary resistance could not become the defining innings of the match. Leicestershire were 79/5, then 188/8, but Middlesex kept their composure in the decisive passages and finished the job with 31 runs to spare.
Ben Geddes (Middlesex Captain): "(Thoughts on his feelings) Yeah, it feels amazing to celebrate here with my teammates, coaches and the fans. They’ve all made the trip here. It feels really, really special, and yeah, I just want to soak it all in.

(Throwback on the entire season) I think we just had an unbelievable squad for this competition—a mix of experience and a mix of youth coming through who don’t look out of place. In every game, different guys have put their hands up. No one has shied away from responsibility, and the belief has been there as well. Today probably showed it more than any other game. So yeah, no one has ever lacked belief in any game.

(About the balance in the team) 100%, very exciting. I think the best example of it is having Toby at one end and Nav at the other. They’re both at opposite ends of their careers, and they’re both operating at a really high level. And then, you know, everyone else who has played has been brilliant. We had to make some tough decisions today to leave guys out who probably didn’t deserve to be left out. And yeah, I’m just so pleased that we got the job done.

(On the journey till now) I mean, we’re a resilient bunch. That’s why we just try to leave it out of our thoughts, get on with the job, go out there and put our best foot forward for the match, and try to leave all the noise on the sidelines.

(On clinching the victory as a captain) Yeah, top. I mean, it’s one of the best moments of my career. I’ve won a few championships before at another club, but to be captain of a team and put my stamp on it is really special."
Stephen Eskinazi (Leicestershire Captain): (On the team's performance) "Yeah, I think it was a really interesting game. I was just saying to Rehan there, I thought after the first kind of 12 or 18 balls of either innings, I thought it was going to be 330. There was some high-skilled bowling, and, you know, in finals, pressure can really do things to a cricket player. And I think, you know, Middlesex have been the team to beat in all competition. They've been outstanding, so all credit to them.

(On the approach at the halfway stage) Yeah, I think you want to stick to your process. You still want to try and break the back of the chase early, show some good intent. Yeah, we felt really comfortable after five or six overs, but Toby did what he does - an amazing competitor - and I think that spell really changed the game.

(On Nick Kelly's innings) Yeah, I think this has been a really cool opportunity for Kelly to come over on the back of making his ODI debut for New Zealand in T20. He's been an amazing character for us, just the way he operates, the way he goes about it. It's something for a lot of our guys to learn, and so happy that he's been able to show his talent to the rest of the country here as well."
Ryan Higgins (POTM): "(Rating his knock in the final) Yeah, it’s got to be up there. Obviously, doing that in a final means so much. But it was a real team effort throughout the day. The seamers and the spinners bowled outstandingly as well, so yeah, just a great day for us.

(About the partnership with Harry Duke) Yeah, to be honest, I get ahead of myself quite a lot, so luckily I had Dukey there just to keep me grounded a bit and make sure I kept taking it deep. That was really the plan, and we managed to do that. We probably just faltered a little bit at the end. We were looking at 250–260, which probably would have been a better score, but yeah, it worked out well.

(On his all-round performance) Yeah, 100%. Obviously, we just come and play the Champo games, but when you’re playing in a final, I literally felt like it was the best my body has felt in a long time. So, really good.

(Message for the Fans) Yeah, 100%. Our fans are always amazing. You know, we’ve been through some tough times over the last few years, and I can’t thank them enough for continuing to turn up and turn out. So yeah, thanks very much, everyone."
