What a cracking game we witnessed in Manchester. After three consecutive defeats, the Leicester Foxes are finally up and running this season and now have four points on the board.
However, they will be concerned about the fitness of Sol Budinger, who had to be stretchered off the field after crashing into the advertising boards while attempting a catch and colliding with Liam Trevaskis.
For now, that's all we have for you. This is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my colleagues Darpan Tikiya and Chandan Kumar Singh. Keep following CREX for more cricketing action. Good night!
2:01 AM IST, 9:31 PM Local Time: What a game of cricket we have just witnessed at Old Trafford. Manchester witnessed a nail-biter for the ages. Leicestershire got over the line on the penultimate ball of the match with 2 wickets in hand. Lancashire gave it their all after scoring just 145 and made a match out of it but in the end they just didn't have enough runs on the board.
Earlier in the game, Lancashire won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to the worst possible start as Matthew Hurst was dismissed in the first over. Captain Keaton Jennings followed his opening partner back to the pavilion soon after. Liam Livingstone's much-awaited return didn't go to plan as he was dismissed for 15.
Ben McDermott also fell cheaply before Chris Green and Joseph Moores stitched an 80-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Moores made 55, while Green scored 28. George Balderson scored 14 off 11 down the order to take Lancashire close to 150.
Liam Trevaskis was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 for 20 from his four overs. Josh Davey and Ben Green both chipped in with two wickets each, while Ashton Turner and Ian Holland bagged one wicket apiece.
In the 14th over, there was a collision between Sol Budinger and Liam Trevaskis. Both fielders went for the ball, and no one called; the end result was that Budinger had to be stretchered off the park.
In reply, Stephen Eskinazi and Ben Mike gave the team a solid start but the latter fell in the third over. Eskinazi added 32 runs with Rishi Patel before losing his wicket. Leicestershire Foxes got a few partnerships going as they inched closer to the target.
However, they lost three wickets in three balls towards the end that made the game interesting. Saqib Mahmood was on a hat-trick but missed out. George Balderson also picked up two wickets in his final over to bring the equation down to 10 off the last over.
Tom Aspinwall was entrusted with closing out the game, but a couple of boundaries from the final pair helped the Foxes get over the line with a ball to spare.

19.5 Thomas Aspinwall to Josh Davey
1 Green misfields and Davey gets home. Single completed. Leicestershire Foxes have registered their first win in T20 Blast 2026. They nearly bottled this run chase too — they went from 131/3 to 134/8. But in the end, somehow, they cross the finish line with a ball to spare. This was delivered on a length, angled in at the middle stick. Davey tapped it towards mid-on, where Green dived to his left, but could not hold the ball. That allowed the batters to get through. Lancashire will be disappointed with the loss, but they can be proud of the fight they put up. It was never their game to win, especially after being 36/4 in the first innings. But they kept on fighting till the last minute and have only lost it in the final moments.
Aspinwall gets the wide yorker wrong and bowls a wide full toss, Davey threw the kitchen sink at that and got a fortunate boundary. The scores are level now.
19.4 Thomas Aspinwall to Josh Davey
4 FULL TOSS! MISCUED SHOT! GOES FOR FOUR! Scores level. Aspinwall went for the wide yorker and ended up bowling a full toss. Davey threw his bat at it, got a thick outside edge and the ball raced into the gap between the keeper and short third.
Just a single, 5 needed off 3.
19.3 Thomas Aspinwall to Ian Holland
1 Fuller side of good length, outside off. Holland chops it towards cover point, where teenaged Moores fields. Only a single. 5 to win off 3 balls now.
Holland shuffles across and then leaves it alone, hoping it would be called a wide but the umpire gave the decision in favour of the bowler. 6 needed off 4.
