2:17 AM IST: A brilliant encounter with some twists and turns goes Kent's way as they seal the deal by 4 wickets and 8 balls remaining. After losing the toss and getting to bowl first, Kent did well to restrict the hosts at 169/7. Ravi Bopara leading the charge with a half century. Michael Hogan finished with 4/31 in the first innings.
Kent's reply didn't start well enough as they lost 3 wickets in the space of an over inside the powerplay. With the score reading 28/3, Daniel Bell-Drummond (38) and Jordan Cox (82* off 44) added 67 runs for the fourth wicket. Bell-Drummond fell in the 11th over but Cox continued batting defiantly adding a further and unbeaten 77 runs with Jack Leaning to seal the deal.
Aristides Karvelas starred with the ball taking 2 wickets in an over but was expensive later on finishing with 2/36. Tymal Mills (1/29) and Ravi Bopara (1/24) also chipped in with a wicket apiece but the economy rate of other bowlers was the concern as Sussex continued conceding boundaries regularly.
Cox hit six fours and five sixes in his individual knock equaling the sixes tally of Sussex' whole innings. Kent will now have 10 points in 10 games with Sussex stuck on 6 points in 10 games as the tournament approaches the next stage.
18.4 A Karvelas to J Cox
6 SIX!! Karvelas goes short and pays the price. Cox gets under the bounce and pulls this amazingly over the midwicket fence to end the game as Kent win by 6 wickets.
18.3 A Karvelas to J Cox
6 SIX! Almost seals the deal for Kent. Low full toss on the off stump, Cox gets down on a knee and carts this away hitting across the line and smashes it up and over deep midwicket boundary.
18.2 A Karvelas to J Leaning
1 Full on the pads, flicked away in the midwicket region. Fielder in the deep moves to his right and keeps it a single.
18.1 A Karvelas to J Cox
1 Over the wicket. Short and wide, cut away to deep point for a single.
Kent require 12 runs from 12 balls. It's their game to lose from here on.
